So you’re actually wondering, “Who’s the wacko in charge of all the blog posts around here?”  (Of course you are, why else would you have clicked ‘About’ anyway?) I’m a left-handed twenty-something with bad eyes (nearsightedness!) and good ears (perfect pitch!).  I’ve played the piano since I was seven.  I’ve got a flair for hyperbole and a knack for getting songs stuck in my head.  I can’t dance or do complicated math, my head’s full of history and useless trivia, I don’t get sick terribly often but I’m really good at spraining my ankles.

I consider myself a nerd; I play Warcraft, I watch SciFi, my favorite shows include Farscape and Battlestar Galactica (as well as The West Wing and Gilmore Girls), I love board games and trivia game shows like Cash Cab and Jeopardy.  I read anything and everything I can find with words on it, I believe in the Oxford Comma, I have a subscription to National Geographic, I watch documentaries for fun, and I attend Dragon*Con almost every year.

Other things that I consider Important Facts About Me:

• I’m a hopeless, girly romantic wrapped up in a thin sheeting of sarcasm and snarkiness.
• I’m a Beatlemaniac.
• People who join in when I’m in a singing mood are my favorite kind of people.
• My friends are my chosen family, and thus the most important people to me.
• I’m terrified of heights, but not a) when I’m on rollercoasters or b) when peering out of airplane windows. So maybe what I’m really afraid of is falling.
• There’s nothing in this world more delightful to me than a really good hug from someone I care about.
• I hold multiple degrees in modern German history and am not currently using much of anything I learned in the process of acquiring them to make a living, but that’s OK.
• I’m head over heels in love with a Swede, like to the point that I said yes very enthusiastically when he asked me to be his wife-thing. I look forward to being his wife-thing.
